As a member of a couple of vBulletin forums, I am wondering where I can find the settings (if there are any) so FF doesn't boot me after about ten minutes of inactivity. Help.

I think it is Tools->Options->Security->Passwords, set remember passwords for sites.
But don't quote me, it has been a while.

I just had to quote you. hehe
Nope. Mine's already set to remember. As soon as I start to type the username it populates the UN and pswd fields. It just boots me off after 10 minutes or so. My home puter (I'm at work now) I use FF and don't have this issue. *raises eyebrow*

When you initially log on, front page of the site, there is a small check box next to the User Name text field, it is the Remember Me check box. Select that and try!
It should work.

Does this thread (http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?style_mode=inproduct&locale=en-US&forumId=1&comments_parentId=29493) describe the same problem you're having?
It appears that typing about:config into the address bar brings up timeout settings... but you get a nasty warning first...

Yeah, there's a ton of stuff you can customize by using about:config.
krisma5

yeah and lots that you can tweak to your specializations.
About config (http://www.mozillazine.org/misc/about%3Aconfig/)
[Edit] Your link isn't working Krisma. Did you mean this one by any chance?

Something is tampering with the url, that explains what happened to your original link Krisma.
I'll flag it as something we need to look at.

OK, link finally sorted, sorry it took so long Krisma.
Apparently when you use a colon in a url like you were doing it needs to be written in it's hexadecimal coded notation.
Thus your link should be:
"http://www.mozillazine.org/misc/about%3Aconfig/" for it to work.
I've corrected it now, so it should work.

I don't think the page exists any more, they seem to have removed it. Can you find it Krisma?

I'll be careful, I promise!
LOL
In Firefox and Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey, type about:config in the Location Bar (address bar) and press Enter to display the list of preferences, as shown below in Firefox 3. (If you see a page with the warning message, This might void your warranty!, click the button labeled "I'll be careful, I promise!", to continue.)

How would that hold up in court: "Well, sir, I did click the 'I'll be careful, I promise' button!"

Well, those slimy shrink wrap warranties have held up in court... unfortunately... be careful what you unwrap...
