On many other VB forums I've been a part of you can add your own RSS feed and it shows up under your name on posts. Just wondering why it's not on this forum?

I thought it was on all VB forums. Guess I was wrong

And yep, it took me this long to notice...:p

I like forum RSS, too.

I do see an RSS link at the far right of my address bar in Firefox.

Yeah...thats for the forum posts.

I'm on about adding your own RSS feed to your profile/whatever on the forum.

I gave it a whirl a while ago.
I'm fairly adept at many things, but could not get it working.

Thought it was worth asking about anyway :D

If it does end up working I'll feed my blog through here.

Any idea why Joomla blog RSS feeds never work with that vB plug-in and if there's a way to "make it work" by running it through an agregator that the vB plug-in understands?

I usually run all my RSS feeds through feedburner and they seem to work fine on VB forums. Never owned a Joomla blog though, so can't say it will work 100%.

Many forums don't have the blog feed, so I never paid much attention to the lack of here.

This thread has renewed my interest in trying again.
We'll see. That's all I can promise.

We'll still think this is the best forum in the world. We may silently resent it and fart in your presence when you're not aware, but we'll still think this is the best forum in the world.

If it's the first site in your signature, then there is no RSS feed for it. I just checked.
RSS is a different version of websites that is readable in stand alone RSS readers.
For example, I can set Outlook to pull new posts from websites via their RSS feed and read them in Outlook.

It's an XML file that the site generates that holds information like the url, title, post data, etc. that can be read by RSS readers (instead of people having to visit your website). It also auto updates, so it's useful on forums and things to have a link to your latest blog.
