Was having the blue screen issue I think I mentioned somewhere. All my research pointed to a hardware problem so I ended up sending it to Toshiba for repair (extended warranty, whew!). They apparently go over everything and just fix whatever they find. In addition to putting in a new hard drive, they fixed stuff that I hadn't asked for, cover was scratched so they replaced it, one USB port didn't work so they replace the whole USB system. I was not having any display problems but for some reason they also replaced my video card. I just got it back...previous problems are gone, but now I have this weird red thing going on:

By "weird red thing", do you mean all that purple crap all over the dialog box?
Or is that caused by the screencap?
If you're talking about what Zap mentioned, I'd be inclined to think it's a display issue. While LCD displays don't require the same sort of "alignment" process as a CRT, there is a color synch alignment process, which can cause that sort of coloring issue, if not properly done. With my Dell laptop, I had the same problem right after I went dual monitor, and the guy in Bombay was able to talk me through the process over the phone. I think if you get your tech support on the line, and tell them you have a screenshot you'd like to email to them while you're talking to them, they may be able to help you fix that yourself.
Although, taking a second look at it, it seems to be only present in the popup window. If that's the case, it may just be a driver issue.
I don't know, Dude. I kinda like purple. I'd be inclined to keep it and count myself lucky. LOL!

It may be that they installed the new "next generation" display driver. Those new drivers are rumored to be able to detect latent "gay genes" and modify the display accordingly.
Perhaps if you purge your mind of unclean thoughts, ...
oh, wait! I forgot who we're talking about here. :sqlaugh:

It only gets real purpley like that if I move a dialogue box around...it gets worse the more I move it. Normally it represents as light purple (looks red) vertical dotted lines. Particularly along the edges of a window divider. For example along the edge of the scroll "lane".

Thank goodness I followed this thread from the beginning, otherwise I'd have suggested a doctor.
