Scientists have identified one of the fundamental chemical buildings blocks of life in a comet for the first time, the US space agency (Nasa) reports.
Glycine is an amino acid found in proteins, the sophisticated molecules that organisms use to build and maintain their systems.
It was detected in the material ejected from Comet Wild-2 in 2004 and grabbed by Nasa's Stardust probe.

This raises the question, did life seed itself on Earth from extra-terrestrial bodies? What do you think?

Umm, I think I'll leave this one alone, it would get too religious for me.

What's wrong with that? You'll find most of these guys, while spiritual, aren't very religious and you know how *I* feel.

Nothing wrong with that either... Some do, some don't, some are in the middle of the road. Can make for interesting discussion as long as everyone stays nice and I don't think we're in danger of that not happening.

Those are asterisks dear. That's why I don't gamble, 'cause I really don't have enough asterisk.

Well, if you would call God extra-terrestrial, then yes. But that puts it seemingly grey. I believe that God created Adam and Eve as the first humans and that they were done as such and not evolved from apes or from slime that sometime in time landed on this planet.

Wouldn't God be considered extraterrestrial (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/extraterrestrial)?

I put that thought into your head when I created everything we see, hear, smell, taste, think, masticate, and defecate. I spent extra time on the defecate part as punishment for all of your merely mortal insignificance.
Sorry to break it to all of you, but I'm a solipsist, and you're all figments of my 1k brain.
