Those are either big squirrels or small coconuts. Also, why does it matter how old Jane is?

It's just how news people write about people (unless they don't want to disclose their age). Pretty sure its taught to them as good standards or something.
You'd think if the squirrels were getting stuck in them the woman would make the holes she makes in them bigger...

LOL! I know bud...I was just thinking that I'd have to deviate from the "news norm" were it me since it's sooooo irrelevant how old she is.

The age thing adds flavour and perspective to the piece, I guess. It gives you an idea how old the person is, thus you can picture whether this crazed activity is being perpetrated by an adult or a child. It matters, for instance knowing the age allows you to infer senility, mental illness, adolescent high jinx or naivety.
