Animals On The Lam At High Park Zoo - CityNews (http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/news/local/article/52615--animals-on-the-lam-at-high-park-zoo)
I think they got them all back now.
It was case of elephants on parade early Wednesday morning at the High Park Zoo.
Well, not elephants, exactly.
Llamas were on the lam, wallabees and kangaroos hopped away and even the yaks wouldn’t come back after someone allegedly cut the fence surrounding their pens.
Toronto Police were first on the scene and corralled the animals using yellow crime scene tape.
But the yaks proved difficult to control and officers had to wait for zoo keepers to arrive before they could get the hairy beasts back behind locked gates.
Cops are looking for just one person, and it’s expected he or she will face mischief charges.
Dr. Seuss is not a suspect.
