My camera saves video as AVI files which are rather large. Too large to effectively send people or load to a site, etc. I'm sure I can locate a converter on Google but my question is, which format is the best to convert to?
I'm sure all you newly sexy geeks will know.

Video isn't my thing but I convert everything to mpeg for it's ability to play just about every where but I get pretty big files as a result so that's really no help for you. :P
I use Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/)to convert. It's great I love the batch features, I set about 20 videos up and let it run over night when I wake up it's all done.

Go with the you tube format for sending to friends, but keep the originals for posterity. Most should be able to play the file via their browser.

I've had good luck with MPEG4 - makes a slick tiny lil' file... dainty as a mouse poo.

Can mouse poo really be considered dainty?
I guess if it craps all over your doilies?
