I'm not talking about grabbing a torrent and burning the movie. I'm talking about walking down the street and being approached by someone with a bookbag full of movies. Now ordinarily I'm against all forms of piracy but some how buying it from someone some how makes it feel more 'right'.

I did buy a couple it's funny every movie is the a direct copy of the free previews that movie rental places it get. That means some video rental place is sharing their preview only copy with someone who has a burner farm.

It's kind of funny this guy does nothing but sell bootleg movies, he drives a nice car he must be doing well. It's odd how he's so open about it too...does it right in the steet, "Yo I got your movies here" ..I'm surprised the cops haven't pulled him in yet.

Your thoughts?

I'll be honest and say I don't like the idea of it. Even though I think DVDs are way over priced and the film companies are miking us for every penny they can get, in the end the only people that will suffer is ourselves because we will precipitate a less vibrant film industry.

I just add films I want to see to my list, wait for a couple of years and pay a third of the cost for the original film I wanted. Sooner or later the film companies will get the message, the punters will only pay so much. That's my thinking. Of course it will only work if a sizeable proportion of the world does as I do.

So join with me you band of Princes and let us fight side by side against the injustices that fall upon our shoulders ... Yada yada yada!

I never buy from these guys because I never know if the cd is blank or if there is even a movie on it, what quality the movie will be...etc

Yeah I don't support them either... Err I should say normally I don't I guess I just felt special that I got some movies before they were released to video.. It still isn't right. Netflix normally keeps me pretty happy. I'm not a huge movie watcher anyhow.

Netflix is great. Particularly the Watch Instantly feature. I have the stuff to hook a laptop up to the TV, just haven't gotten around to it yet...maybe I'll do that today too.
