I mentioned this over yonder too. Smilies don't work, thank you button is screwy as is the quote feature. Also clicking the link to thanked comments displays weird. Can't figure it out. No new plugins, no updates, just started out of the blue. I've cleared cache and rebooted. Nothin'. All is fine in Chrome...just FF.

Weird. Have you tried a mallet?

Have you changed any of the settings? (I'd re-install windows. :sqwink:)

If all else fails, reinstall FF.

Hard refresh the page Muddy (Ctrl F5) to force a reloading over everything from the server. Sometimes from time to time the cache gets corrupted which causes all sorts of wonky things to happen.

Alternatively you can delete you cache (Tools > Delete Private Data) and see if that fixes it.

I'd cleared the cache already..just tried f5 an clearing cache again...nothin'.

I just realized, no icons work. No smilies, no Youtube, attachment button, etc...

Quote button works but the quoted text includes tons of extra symbols etc. Thank you button works but sends you to the start of the thread after clicking. No share buttons are showing, only the clickable word "Share" right above the thank you button. It looks like this: Share | Except the word is underlined but I can't click the underline button.

So...after Googling endlessly for an answer and trying several things, no solution was found. Therefore I've switched to Chrome. I must say...it's MUCH faster than any other browser I've used. Chrome seems to offer a few add-ons I use, but now I just need to find replacements for the following features:

1. FireFTP (might have to go back to FileZilla).
2. Something that will make Chrome restore all previous tabs when the browser's reopened.
3. A drop down for Wikipedia, Dictionary, et al...or another way to quickly access and search in often used sites.
4. All bookmarks displayed in column instead of just a few in a horizontal bar.

Plus, I can't play the Youtube vids in this thread: Gold Dispensing ATM Launched In The Gulf - BTWIMHO Chat Forums (http://www.btwimho.com/showthread.php?t=2319)

Chrome spies even more on you than facebook bro. :sqlaugh:

Want a browser that's even faster than Chrome and does not spy on you? Use Opera. :sqwink:

Thanks I'll check that out immediately! I did hate the idea of a Google product just because they're obviously spying.

I'd stick with FF but I can't seem to fix it.

I'm hoping Opera will have the add-ons/features that FF has too...

*checking it out*

Opera's pretty sweet. I have to say I like Chrome too. I most of my online presence through Google so if they're spying, they already know I'm a nutjob. :D

Firefox is still my primary browser. Muddy you might want to backup your bookmarks and trash your Firefox profile. Profile folder - Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox) This will delete all your settings, bookmarks, passwords, etc and make Firefox think it's freshly installed.

Trashing the profile folder is an option of last resort but it's helped me several times.

Thanks Dan, I downloaded Opera and have been fiddling with it...have to say Chrome is much faster.

I'll try that with FF...although I'm getting hooked on Chrome's speed! lol!

That seems to have fixed it Dan! We'll see what happens when I get my extensions back on there though.

Cool beans. Extensions can be funny though I had one that broke spell check in FF. If you notice a particular problem google it to see if there are any work arounds. :)

Easy solution: type in boring stuff that you think they won't want to know then.

Eventually Google will know us better than we will know ourselves.

You can backup all your info with this add on (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/2109/).
You can also choose in there what you want backed up and what not, great for when the computer crashes and nothing is left. :sqfrown:
