Someone I used to know worked for that company... he claimed that the Japanese would pay these kind of prices... he also had to work overnights since the orders from across the Pacific would flood in at that time. Thousands of dollars on self-destructive molded plastic...

I could understand if it was some collector's item that would accrue value over time and had some intrinsic value, but this is just mass produced milking products.

Yes, the state quarter program in this country has produced some interesting responses... people are "putting them away" for some reason. Billions upon billions were produced. They won't be rare until the sun supernovas. Interesting logic.
