we lived together for a year. We were known as Grand Ju (tall Julien) and P'tit Ju (short Julien).
We are pretty one person. We think alike so much that we can substitute each other from a conversation and nobody would notice.
I have told him to join this forum. I will soon if I keep on bugging him.
julien_simon

we had a party where we wear the same clothe (one black sock, on white sock, sunglasses, hat etc...) and shaved half of our face so that we were perfectly symmetrical, standing next to each other.

julien_simon

cul-de-sac is used here for non-through road, or dead end. It literally means ass of the bag, because it goes round and if you were to enter a bag on one side, you would just turn around and come back the other side.
so it makes sense.
Muddy

"¡Que culo!"... what an ass... meant in a positive way in South America. People said this to me when I found an optometrist open during summer vacation in Uruguay. I had no idea my luck was so viral. And I keep thinking "wow, I must have a nice ass." So I was disappointed to find out my buttocks had nothing to do with it.
Muddy

julien_simon

Quel Culot! in French means that you are ballsy, which can literally be translated by :T'as des couilles!, which means the same thing. So I guess we refer to both side of the hip when talking about someone brave. No discrimination there.

An interesting thing I saw on TV yesterday ...
There is a cheese called Double Gloucester, it is orange. When it was first being made, they took the creamiest part of the milk out of the rest, which they used to make Cheddar. The creamiest part they used to make Double Gloucester and added the colouring to distinguish it from the cheddar. It was always meant to be a high class product and apparently is only made from milk from four farms in Gloucester.
