Found this amazing flash picture you can zoom into which goes from the size of a coffee bean to a carbon atom.

Some cells are visible to the unaided eye

The smallest objects that the unaided human eye can see are about 0.1 mm long. That means that under the right conditions, you might be able to see an ameoba proteus, a human egg, and a paramecium without using magnification. A magnifying glass can help you to see them more clearly, but they will still look tiny.

Here:
Cell Size and Scale (http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/content/begin/cells/scale/)

It's good to listen to this song while zooming in. :3smile:

Very cool! Baker's yeast is smaller than sperm!

The water molecule is the smallest but there must be smaller because a molecule is composed of atoms.

That was illuminating!

Big and small lose their meaning the bigger or smaller you go, at least I find it so, my mind can only gage size in relation to other things, but of course an atom and finger bare little resemblance in terms of scale.

What would a fish say if it could see the oceans from space, probably, "Blobp!".

Seems to me that this has been posted here before but minus the video. I enjoyed seeing it again. I read the article this time. My compliments to the chef.

The water molecule is shown to be slightly smaller than the carbon atom.
If someone asks you what a water molecule is composed of, you'll just have to tell them; water.

Seems to me that I read somewhere about resolution limitations with each method of magnification so I'm assuming that the water molecule is where that line is drawn with the electron microscope. Jeez I hope it wasn't in the article that I read that, that would mean that my memory sucks worse than I had thought, I'm afraid to look now. Let's just leave it at that then, shall we? lol

BTW, I shut the music off after just a few seconds, no offense, it's just that I can't stand crappy music and I'm not into lyrics at all and never have been as long as I can remember, I've always felt that music should be the master of any song, and if that sucks then they've lost a customer right from the get-go, and I don't give a shit how great the lyrics supposedly are. Leave that lyric crap to poems and the like I say, right where it belongs.

I hate fucking Bob Dylan, and believe me, he's just the tip of the iceberg.

I suppose now someone will come in and say well what about just a quick blojob then, but I'm serious. Pete Seeger and on and on, I wish these people would keep their slop out of the music industry. Willie Nelson? That man has got about as much musical talent as a rock, don't get me started.

I can only imagine. You should just quit if you hate it so much.

I don't know, I just get in these moods where I need to let these jokers that everyone thinks are real musicians have it in a genetics topic. It should pass soon. lol

I would answer, one hydrogen atom and two oxygen atoms combined, but I'm an arse at times. :sqwink:

Neutron tunnelling microscopes perhaps?

I suppose there's a point where they need to stop magnifying and start smashing.

I wonder if Bob Dylan's sperm is larger than yeast? There goes another week of sleep...

Just found this which is a little similar, and comes with it's own sound effects:

Afraid I can't help out there. Maybe this can (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14159.html)?

I'm using Safari version 5.0 on a mac, which doesn't seem to be on the list posted strangely enough.

I'm sure I'll figure out what's going on sooner or later, or maybe a future update will correct whatever is wrong. My PC is ancient and that may not be helping matters either.
