View Full Version : The Deep & Meaningful Lyrics Game
Strong

Simple game, someone posts a portion of deep and meaningful lyrics for the next poster to name. A vid of the band and song by the person answering would be good but not essential.
Rules:
Short portion of the lyrics not the whole song.
Nothing too obscure, give us a chance.
No cheating by resorting to search engines for the answer.
Since so many cover versions exist any band playing the song is acceptable.
(If any other rules are required we'll make them up as needed.)
I'll push the boat out with this gem from the old days:
"The road is long, with a many and winding turn that leads us to who knows where, who knows where, but I'm strong, strong enough to care, ..."
He ain't heavy, he's my Brother by the Hollies.

If above answer is correct...
DAML (Deep and Meaningful Lyrics):
And in this moment, I need to be needed
When my self-esteem is sinking, I like to be liked
In this emptiness and fear,
I want to be wanted

Indeed it was He Ain't Heavy, His My Brother, by the Hollies. I'm thinking this game is quite a hard one now that I think about it.

Didn't think mine was that difficult. It was Love to be loved by Peter Gabriel.

I'll try again.
DAML:
It's just the car that we ride in
A home we reside in
The face that we hide in
The way we are tied in
And life carries on and on and on and on

"it's not having what you want, it's wanting what you've got" ..Wise words, but I ain't got a a clue.Ok I'll give you a crappy one, but one nonetheless; the title is contained in the sentence that follows.
Ok I'll give you another crappy clue; the sentence that follows is also the beginning of the chorus.
Ok I'll give you 2 better clues; female rocker, began as a studio musician.
I can't believe that no one has guessed my first one yet.
Each correct answer draws you closer to a deep and meaningful prize, Strongy probably just forgot that part.
What's the DAM prize you say? A date with the corpse of Benny Hill, all expenses paid.
Ok I'll give you 2 better clues; female rocker, began as a studio musician.
Janis Joplin popped into my head, then Nico, then Marianne Faithfull, but Lita Ford is the main songstress that for me, epitomizes the label "female rocker."
Don't all musicians begin as studio musicians? Do the ones that don't hit the bigtime just stay studio musicians?
What's the DAM prize you say? .
Deep and meaningful prize?
I can't believe that no one has guessed my first one yet.
I gave in a googled. :3unsure:

Hubba hubba :3biggrin:Soak Up The Sun is correct, you win the prize. Great song BTW.
Benny wants to know what time you'll be picking him up.
Benny wants to know what time you'll be picking him up.
As he's been deid a while, he might be a little ripe so I'll pass thankyou very much. :)
DAML:
"Is your mouth a little weak?
When you open it to speak,
are you smart?"
If I was as smart as I think I am I'd be a genius.
I don't know the answer but the letters in those words look awfully familiar.

Funny Valentine by Sinatra.

DAML:
Covered in hope and Vaseline
Still cannot fix this broken machine
Watching the hole it used to be mine
Just watching it burn in my steady systematic decline
Of the trust I will betray
Give it to me I throw it away
After everything I've done I hate myself for what I've become

Not a clue. I don't have a single clue. I must have cultural negligence disease. Actually, that might serve me well...
Ok I'm thinking Nickleback, and if I'm right, I swear to the woodwork that I didn't cheat.

It was Nine Inch Nails.
Try a different one. Hint: It's from a movie and it's been around for a while.
Stay free, where no walls divide you

It was Born Free Born Free (1966) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060182/)
Am I the only one that keeps seeing deep throat when this topic title is in peripheral view on the index page?
I think my brain is somehow being pornwashed in this forum. lol
