It is ironic perhaps that TV debates have not found a way to improve over the intervening years. I suspect he is right when he said that TV is not a medium for debate. A illustrative point being the formatted schedule, you can't break a discussion down in advance into 10/15 minute segments, there is a flow that is inevitably broken. The very fact of an hour long show says it all, debates come to an end in their own time and cannot be pre-scripted in that way.
