I'm having a hell of time. Been working on this for two days now. Quickbooks just won't open. I was getting an error 00000 39056. I called them and in lieu of paying $80 I opted for them to send me an article on how to fix it. I did everything in the article and it still won't open. No error message now though. Just nothing. It has something to do with Windows Net Framework 2.0. Of course I have SP1 through SP3.5 now and 2.0 doesn't even show in the Add or Remove Program area. Running on XP Pro. Guess I'll have to call them back (in Manila BTW) and pay the money. Then they remotely access your machine and fix it. 80 bucks is looking cheaper and cheaper...but it bugs me to not be able to figure this out. Grrrr.

Gotta pick up the leprechauns...BRB.

Just put your machine on protocol and record everything they do to it and then you can do it again yourself the next time it goes haywire.

I am glad I don't have those problems, I've had a pirate version of xp for years and do not recieve any updates yet I've had no such problems, course that may be because I have no need to acquire such applications as you. Do people actually make money from this thing?

I believe these massages are a pretty lucrative business.

I believe these massages are a pretty lucrative business.Yes well I'll not be privy to such extravagance, I'll simply not. Ones and zeros are of the devil.

If you do decide to pay the $80, make it worth it!

Tell them they need to change the name of their software to Quitbooks.

No, I plowed through that article and 2 or 3 others multiple times. Uninstalling and reinstalling numerous files and apps. I had another issue going where the latest XP security update wouldn't take. Kept saying it installed and then would pop up again. Through much Googling and finally getting info from some forum or another, I got that issue resolved and then also from a third party source found the answer to the QB issue. All is back to working hunky dory now but no thanks to Quickbooks. Their articles in reference to the 00000 39056 error are completely worthless.

I should have written down what I did in case someone else finds this thread Googling the same problem. Then they would know what to do and NOT waste time on the Quickbooks articles. I'm not sure I even know what I did, my brain was getting so fried trying to remember what I removed and what I'd put back.

Basically it all boiled down to the qbregistration.dat file that they mention in the article but their fix does not resolve it. Or didn't for me anyway. Ok, this is boring, where's the wine?

LOL! Yeah!

"OK buddy I'll pay ya, but for 80 clams there's some kids in downtown Manila I want you to go slap around a little."
