Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has quit the UFC.
His reason for quitting was that he is trying to get a part in the new A-Team movie and Dana White was apparently mocking him for it. In addition to that, Jackson was scheduled to fight Rashad Evans and he wanted that fight delayed so that he could shoot the movie.

The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them … this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called Dana right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together.

So, what do you think? Sould Dana White have just let Rampage postpone the fight and kept his mouth shut? Or did Rampage have a tongue lashing coming?

I don't even know what UFC means, sounds like fried chicken to me. We do follow K1 in my part of the woods.

They occasionally have UFC fight night in Germany or England so there's some European exposure.

UFC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ufc)

I've heard of it, but not seen any fights. The only fighting I like to see are the lesbian sumo wrestlers in my dreams. I expect there will be porn on the internet soon for this new fetish and if there isn't I'm going to complain and burn the internet down as Julien suggested!

I had a look into that UFC btw. Now I know why I never heard about it, it's one of those American franchises.

In Seoul there was a k1 fight for the world championships today, between the world champion for the past three years, Peter Aerts (a guy from Amsterdam) and Alistair Overeem (a guy from Amsterdam). Alistair Overeem won the fight at points. Peter Aerts is not in the race for the championship any more after this loss, another dude who was world champion for three years in the past and re-entered the games, Remy Bonjasky (a guy from Amsterdam) did win his match against Daniel Ghita (a guy from Romania).

So we are probably going to see a match between Remy Bonjasky, a very experienced fighter and Alistair Overeem, a rather new face on the block, but one to keep into account. The final will be in Japan, I don't know where yet.

Did I ever mention to you guys that I'm into K1 for years already, partly due to the fact that I know a few of those guys because most of them have their training in a dojo round the corner from my house where I also used to go for my workouts.

Those guys are huge btw. They are giants, every single one of them.

Maybe you've heard of Bas Rutten (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bas_Rutten)?

Most of the UFC fighters are American, but it is open to anyone, really.
There are a couple of Canadians (one is currently champion and holds the welterweight belt).
And there are quite a few Brasilians.

And the UFC does try to hold some fights in Europe from time to time. I guess they're trying to get more interest there.

Yes, I've heard of Bas Rutten. Good fighter. Hehhe, those American guys at UFC better hope the Dutch fighters don't get interested in their competition, they're not even gonna know what hit them.

Same with the Brasilians, Dude.
They tend to be very good.
GSP (Georges St. Pierre, From Canada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_St-Pierre)) is also a really good fighter.
Currently holds the welterweight belt.
But more important than that, I think, is that he's a guy with class and good sportsmanship.

He's the type of guy who would fight against someone who's been trash talking against him for months, shake his hand at the beginning of the fight, help the guy up after knocking him out and then give credit in the interview after the fight to that fighter for how challenging he was.
