The newest version of vBulletin has been live for a few days and now the updated and recoded skin is in place.

Please report any issues in this thread.

Thank you Colleen!

Yay!

Indeed thanks and thanks again Kalina!

It's looking good!

Might I just mention two niggling things; firstly I find the text within quoted text to be a little difficult to read, it might just be the italics, and secondly pin pointing links within posts is a hassle, it would be nice if the links were relatively obvious at a glance instead of exactly like the rest of the text.

I wish the post thanks plugin was working, I find it very handy! :)

Strong, I agree about the links, were they a different color before? Just wondering so I can find the colour they were in the old skin settings, if not, perhaps I should make them red, what do you think, Zap?

Will look into the quoted text as well, thanks for the feedback, Strong. :)

I wouldn't make the links red, rather a colour that goes better with the skin, like some shade of brown or something. Also, I noticed we still have ug-lee blue envelope icons placed before the topics when you hit the new posts button. I would like to see those replaced with something more aesthetic, pleeeese.

I will have a look at plugins this weekend if I have time. I also really find the thanks plugin useful! I've looked for it several times over the past few days. :)

I think links in posts should be BOLD for sure and either red, blue or black... whichever looks better.

On the quoted text, I'm not sure what to suggest, but I think the white background is jarring, somewhat. Could we try a lighter shade of orange for the background and black text that isn't italicized?

Totally agree with this. They don't match the skin at all.
Could we just reuse the same ones already in place for the forums?

I'm liking the quoted text now, background and text, much easier on the eyes!

As for the links; good colour, good emboldening, not sure if the underlining is a little over kill. It kind of interferes with the flow when reading, but at least it stands out now, which from a speed reading and modding perspective is tremendously useful! I don't think we could get the links sorted out last time.

I was happy, now I am happier :slaugh:

Did you fade out the background white noise a little? I remember it being more intrusive. Not that I'm complaining!

As for the thank you button, yeah, I'm missing it big time!

Strong

BTW does the background grey on the header bar for the 'you last visited' text seem a little out of place?

Perhaps just plain grey text on the orange background of the header would be less jarring?

I like the links without the underline too, but Zap suggested it, will see what he says about taking it out.

Nope, I didn't do anything to the noisy background, lol.

The thank you plugin is supposed to work with this version but it's causing multiple instances of the thank you function per post, I asked why in the support thread but was ignored by those supplying support for the plugin, and the author hasn't been heard from in months so I am not sure what to do.

It does but I was trying to make the text stand out, even when it was black, it was hard to read against the background image.

I will try the yellow/orange colour seen in the post background, maybe that will be better there.

I'm OK with the links underlined or not. I just want them to stand out so they can be spotted easily.
I'm also not a big fan of the "you last visited" in grey but I see the orange now and it looks much better!

I like it :)

The new quick editor seems to move down by about 20px every time I try and click a button on it though. No idea if it's a browser thing (I use Opera) - cba opening a different browser.

Can you get the Favicon back up at some point? It's how I differentiate between tabs quickly...

I was reading about problems with the new editor and noted some in Firefox since I use it, and some other browsers, so it's on their side.

Thanks for reminding me about the Favicon, I keep overwriting it with the upgrade. It's fixed now, might have to refresh a few times or hard refresh.

Post thanks for vB 4: [AJAX] Post Thank You Hack - vBulletin.org Forum (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=231666)

Be advised it doesn't support the search features that the 3.8 version did. Namely find all thanked posts by this user, all posts thanked by user, etc. Spiders will generate a ton of database errors trying to search for thanks (based on old URLs, I guess) Edit your robots.txt to disallow /post_thanks.php it will clear itself up within a week or so but don't let the DB errors that will eventually flood your inbox scare ya...they scared the crap out of me at first. LOL

That's the one we're using but it's causing the "thanks button" to appear multiple times per post. I asked about it and no one there responded. So, I'm not sure what we'll do. :|

Thanks for the tip about the spiders, if I do get it working properly, I will implement that feature.

The little star icon allows you to give reputation points and leave a message to the poster. Works just as well.

But I'm sure the Thank You button will be back as soon as this version of reality, 4.1.4, is debugged.

Well...that may be....but when I hit the rep button it says that I must spread some reputation around before giving it to Strong again. So I can't freely hit the rep button willy nilly can I? *arms crossed, tapping foot*

I miss the thanks button; my preferred way of using it is to mark posts that I'd like to go back to, and for everything else there's Barclaycard the rep button.
