Interesting to hear Aldous Huxley's views in 1958, looking back he was pretty damn right.

Yes, one would hope that the guy who wrote "Brave New World" would end up dead wrong in his predictions... oiy...

I'm surprised I missed that book, since I deliberately look for that type of utopian/dystopian SF lit. Another one to add to my increasingly ridiculously long list of unread mind fodder. I better have a relatively long and painless death or I'll never get through it!

Strangely I've missed that one, too... some friends were lucky enough to read it in school (I doubt it's on the agenda much these days), so here's a situation where forced reading and loss of freedom definitely benefits the individual... we need to be forced to read more awesome books... who has a cattle prod?

I 've read Brave new world in the 70's - on acid - reading on acid makes books turn into movies inside your head. :3smile:
