That was incomprehensible. I have no idea what the laughter was about nor was I familiar with the performers.

I assume you are familiar with Abba, a beat combo from the 70s and 80s, I believe.

As for the medley of their hits, it was performed by Steve Coogan in his show, The Alan Partridge Show. In it he plays the part of a TV interviewer who has guests on his show. It is satirical in nature, mainly mocking interviewers and light entertainment shows. He is being deliberately bad.

It is more understandable if you are familiar with Abba and their hits.

The woman was just some actress. UK TV, Brit humour.

Coogan was a precursor to The Office. Think Spinal Tap, that kind of humour, but without the music ironically.

Well I don't know how much of Coogan that Ed has seen. Perhaps he was being sarcastic. That would be extra funny.
