Just once, I'd like to see one of these major corporations refuse to bow down to special interests and come out with a statement like "Yeah. That's right. We made the app. Get over it.".

You mean take responsibility for their actions? You're kidding right? :sqeek:

I just don't like the people who try to put pressure on a company for something stupid like this.
The app is all in fun. Nobody's being hurt or maimed or killed or anything.

It'd be nice if Pepsi said "We see what you're trying to do here and so do a lot of other people. Now piss off.".

Not gonna happen, but it would be nice.

Everyone's scrambling for political correctness...
It reminds me of something my economics teacher once said...
"When do your rights stop and others' begin?"

And I think that's a fairly decent guide to determine what is acceptable or not in some cases.
Take this one in particular.

Who is being hurt by this app?

Does that mean they won't sell my Masturbate-your-iphone application that I made specially for the iphone lovers out there?

Interesting. The iPhone has an accelerometer in it. :sqeek:

And, YES, I am an iPhone owner. :sqembarrassed:

You're an iPhone owner, but are you an iPhone lover?

Absolutely!
I take it to bed with me every night.
I comfort it when it's sad.
I rejoice when it is happy.
We go everywhere together.

Copy-paste was added in the last firmware.
New iPhone 3GS can do video. (You can actually do video with the older 3G models, but you need to jailbreak them for that)

Download stuff??? There's an app that opens PDFs, XLS, DOC files. Is that what you mean?

There are so many cool and useful things I can do with my iPhone that just blows all of my past phones away.

With an iPhone, now anyone can be a musician!

my roommates has the recorder application, where you blow in the microphone and play from the screen.

Shush. I'm trying to watch the keyboard drummer again.

He started out pretty tight but then got a bit sloppy. Easily done with increasing complexity. I thought that he did fairly well though, even considering that I've not personally tried such a keyboard.

Was it embarrassing because it didn't work?
