Pretty barbaric way of warfare, dirty bombs keep killing

Depleted Uranium: Dead Babies in Iraq and Afghanistan Are No Joke | The Public Record (http://pubrecord.org/world/5811/depleted-uranium-babies-afghanistan/)

Further, a report sent to the UN General Assembly by Dr Nawal Majeed Al-Sammarai, Iraq’s Minister of Women’s Affairs since 2006, stated that in September 2009, Fallujah General Hospital had 170 babies born, 24 percent of which died within their first week of life. Worse yet, fully 75 percent of the babies born that month were deformed. This compares to August 2002, six months before the US invasion, when 530 live births were reported with only six dying in the first week, and only one deformity. Clearly something terrible is happening in Fallujah, and many doctors suspect it’s the depleted uranium dust that is permeating the city.

There are more humane ways of getting rid of one's nuclear waste (http://www.ppionline.org/ppi_ci.cfm?knlgAreaID=450020&subsecID=900194&contentID=254827) in my view. :sqmad:

Well if this is true, the irony of the Americans going into Iraq to stop Saddam Hussein from using chemical weapons against his own people and finding WMDs will be thrown into sharp relief.

The truth is no one cares what is happening in Iraq any more, they are bored with the story in the West and the 'Allies' are more interested in extricating themselves from the mess.

Pretty dumb to send your own soldiers in there, too.
One wonders what they're going to come back with that the US government will, of course, refuse to take care of.

It is true Strong, and you can bet your ass that the US government knew what they were doing, it was long known that DU is nothing more than nuclear waste given another name.

The United States is hated for a reason....
It's amazing what they do to their own people too.

That's just the thing, though.
It's not all the the US that's doing this.
It's a select few assholes who have managed to take all the power and use it for these means.
Most people who see this, American or not, would, hopefully, be sickened by it.
But the people who do these things are counting on the smokescreen of blaming the US and Americans for it.

We need to start holding these monsters accountable.

Agreed! I think though, that if you actually poled most citizens of any given country, you'll find that their views almost always differ from the politicians/rulers that govern them.
As for accountability, how would one go about doing that?

Start by looking at GWB, Cheney and all of their cohorts and look into ways of getting them charged with a crime against humanity.

And not over yet. Have you met the new boss? Same as the old boss. :sqwink:

The only thing that changed in US foreign politics is the rhetoric, "hope" is the new “I have a different vision of leadership. A leadership is someone who brings people together.” and "Change" is the new “In my sentences I go where no man has gone before.” and "peace" is the new “I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.”

The quotes in italic are from the old boss.

Only sociopaths don't hate war in my opinion. I have never met one single mentally sane person who didn't hate war. The problem is that governments are populated with sociopaths.

Seriously.
