Wow. What a circle jerk. Should my kids get the shot of not. So much conflicting information. Scary that older children are most at risk.

Thoughts?

I'm both amazed and not amazed by some of the theories wafting out there that H1N1 is an "inside job" and part of a "world depopulation program." Combined with this and the autism immunization scare I wonder how many people will get poked?

Plus, in the 70s the US had a swine flu scare in which thousands were vaccinated. The actual pandemic didn't happen and more people died from the vaccinations than from the actual flu.

Regardless of all the paranoid noise out there, not getting vaccinated likely carries a bigger risk of nastiness than getting vaccinated. Of course who knows if any vaccination would help in a full blown pandemic?

Every year, there is the same conflicting information and you'll also hear people tell you that the flu shot actually gives you the flu. While it actually does, that's not what these people are talking about. They cite the fact that they got the shot and then got sick. Could have been any number of things and most likely a cold, but that won't stop them from saying the shot gave them the flu.

I get the shot every year and I'm fine. I plan on getting the H1N1 shot and the regular flu shot, even if it means two visits and two needles.
We immunize against the things that we can because we don't want to get those things.
Maybe we'll have a pandemic on our hands in a month or two and getting the flu shot now is going to save your life. And maybe there will be no pandemic at all.
I measure the ramifications of not getting the shot and dying against the possibility that the shot is bad for me.

Now, if he can just figure out how to light them all by firing across the appropriate synapses, he'll be all set. lol

I've a health department appointment in a week or so to get breathing meds, they generally ask me if I want the flu shot and I always say, I don't know.. do you think I ought ta?.. and they commence to jabbing never actually answering the question.

Well I'm getting it, the normal yearly flu jab and the swine flu vaccine, which incidentally they have started injecting in the UK today.

I normally have the annual flu jab. I had it last year and until last week, I hadn't even had a sniffle.

I would recommend anyone who has a compromised immune system to seriously consider having the vaccine. While swine flu is relatively mild in nature for most people, those with compromised immune systems can have serious complications brought on by the flu.

There is a lot of paranoia around, don't let it kill you.

I never got a flu shot and I have no intentions of getting this one either.
I'll take my chances with Mama Nature...
