I believe my posts are now contagious.

Stay the hell away from this thread.

If I stop writing within the next couple of days - it was a weird but enjoyable experience to be here.

sometimes...well, all the time, I enjoy having english as a second language because you can make little kids joke like the one above and blame it on the language barrier.

It is also probably funnier for me than for a native speaker.

julien_simon

nurse said it is swine flu and she can't leave the house for 7 days.
I'm not allowed to go to work tomorrow and need to go see a doctor.
I will work from home so expect the worse happening on this forum tomorrow.

Wow, Julien!

That sucks.

I hope your wife gets better quickly. How did they know from a phone conversation that it was swine flu and not some other sickness or flu?

I was kind of hoping that the swine flu vaccinations would be available before the outbreak came to Canada, but I guess not. Vaccine won't be ready until the first week of November, they say.

My son and daughter are sick (undetermined ailments) and I have had a sore throat with no other symptoms for a couple of days now. The boy had a really high fever for 24 hours and my daughter has been coughing through the night for 2 nights now.

we checked her symptoms online and it told us to call a phone number. My wife talked with a nurse for about 20 minutes. She has every single symptom of the swine flu. I believe the nurse asked her some tricky questions to see if she was faking or overreacting.

In cases like that, when all symptoms are present, it's better to assume that it is swine flu and stay in the room rather than go out and potentially get everybody else sick.

I rubbed her back with an ice cube yesterday. That's how much fever she had.

Got me wondering now.
Son: Had a fever that topped out at 40.5 C for 24 hours. It's gone now, but he's still recovering from whatever caused the fever and he's on an antibiotic.
Daughter: Coughing all night for the past two nights. She's seeing the doctor today and missing her first class trip.
Me: Sore throat for a couple of days now with the odd headache, but no fever.
My wife is even complaining she's not feeling well and she's almost never sick.

You're not supposed to use it on yourself, Dude.
Those are for surfaces that get touched a lot. (ie. Not your penis)

Prevent Swine Flu - Good Advice

Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist) having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital ,Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorial etc.. Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).

The following message given by him makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (except to eat or bathe).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected o ne. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at using a Neti pot to clean nasal cavities, but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*

5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

Pass this on to your entire e-list. You never know who might pay attention to it - and STAY ALIVE because of it.

Crap, that means no 69 action, no blowjobs, no eating pussy.

Forget it, I will take my chances on this flu.....

The french for you...always hands with them.

Anyways, the best thing to take starting now and from now on that is not on that list?
Vitamin D....
Yes, it does a better job than Vitamin C or anything else to prevent flu, including H1N1....

Do get some Vitamin D tablets and take them daily.
We do....

This was backed up by our son's doctors when his daughter (our granddaughter) got H1N1 a few weeks back.
They all came out okay and it was the Vitamin D they were all taking.

yeah we'll be fine.

at the worse, it's just a few days in bed.

I know people who would pay for that.

especially for a few days in bed with me and my wife.
