the only logical conclusion to this video is that Jesus was an insect.

didn't take long to get off topic with a pic of a naked girl :D
This is really cool:
Time Warp: Drop of water. [VIDEO] (http://wimp.com/waterdrop/)This is pretty cool. This I did not know. The surface tension is apparently quite sound when surrounded by air, then is weakened by the absence of air at the contact point, but what is really amazing is that this surface tension reforms so quickly.

As does the air cushion. Very cool video.
As does the air cushion. Very cool video.Yes well the air is already present.

But it no longer exists when the drop finally falls into the bath, right? Then the wave action bounces the ball up and a new air cushion forms, no?

I suppose it can be said that the displacement of air is very fast though, good point.

I watched that video like 10 times.
I never heard of that bouncing effect before.
Water has great surface tension, I'm not sure of the importance of atmospheric pressure only in that it is the constant.
Actually I'm not sure of much of anything at this point. lol

I wonder if wine will bounce like that?
I just ran out and have another four days to wait for the next batch, it's a self-control mechanism.
I suspect that wine might be a bit more dense. Just speculation of course. But I think that this surface tension is dominant in most if not all liquids.

interesting question. Is wine heavier than water? Would that influence the pressure of the impact and make the air "cushion" thiner?
I would think that the air cushion is not a cushion at all, but rather simply air that is easily displaced. To have any pressure from air beyond it's natural state it needs to be confined then compressed, the air between the drop and the water surface is simply pushed out of the way I would think.
But the curvature of the drop may account for some weird phenomenon where air is trapped between the drop and the surface of the water even when submerged, for all I know. lol
And I purposely referred to this as my thread knowing that it wasn't, please do not ask me why, I've been thinking about that and can't figure that one out myself, is there a psych in the house? lol
Sorry, forgot to tell you what the self-control mechanism was lol. It's making only a gallon at a time. lol
I can make a bigger batch in the same amount of time but I don't, is my point.
I never thought I'd see the day when animals were ruled by plants.

That is hypnotic. Needs to be set to music.
