View Full Version : First BTWIMHO Referral Contest

Zap
19-11-2009, 10:59 AM
Fresh blood is the life force of any community and we are no different.
We're pretty small right now, but a little bit of growth here and there is going to get us where we're going.
There is already a great community feeling to BTW and I want to build on that.

So... With that in mind...

I'm announcing the First Referral Contest For BTW!
*cue the fanfare and the confetti*

The contest is simple and it runs until 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday December 15th.

The member with the most referrals between today (including today) and contest closing time will receive $50 via Paypal.
The person that the winner referred with the highest post count will receive $25.
That's right. You could win $50 for the most referrals and one of your referrals could win $25 for having the highest number of posts (in comparison to others you have referred) at contest close.
(And don't post lame or spammy posts to get there. Those will be deleted and you will be disqualified.)

Check your UserCP (http://www.btwimho.com/usercp.php) for your referral link.
The link is just under the "New Subscribed Threads".
Pass that link around to whoever you know that might want to join this great community and earn themselves $25 in the process.

Rules:

Only referrals automatically counted by vBulletin will be eligible.
Each person referred must also post 10 quality posts within this forum to be counted as a referral.
All payments are to be made by Paypal only.
Winners will be announced on the 16th of December.
No spammy or lame posts. We already have a great community and want to keep it that way.
All judgements are final and not negotiable.
The person with the highest number of referrals between today and the end of December 15th will receive $50 and that member's highest posting referral will receive $25.

Hey Buff,

Yes there is. You can find the list of referrers here.
Those are all referrals since forum inception, though and isn't broken down by dates for this contest.

I am not eligible, but everyone else is.

So far, for the contest dates, Sami has 2 referrals.

Hi,

Good link :(

Sami4u, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I wanted to track them to judge whether or not to continue with the ads.

Hi Zap,

I would like you to do me a favor with the money Please. I know this might sound odd but Please do it if you can.

Take $20 and go to your local grocery store and buy some canned food keep this food in your car as you drive around your city If you see a homeless person in need see that they get it.

Use the rest of the money to promote the forum.

The contest was fun.

Thanks for the opportunity.

That wouldn't really work very well as I'm usually trying to run them over with my car.
It would be kinda weird to, then, get out and hand them some canned goods as they lay on the pavement.

J/K

I'm already promoting the forum, so how about a $50 donation to a local food bank?
They are in dire need at this time of year and there are always places for the homeless to go to get a hot meal and a warm bed.
Because it gets so cold some winter nights, we have a squadron of cars that drive around looking for homeless people and take whomever they can find inside for the night.

Or maybe we split it? $25 for the homeless in your city and $25 for the homeless in my city?
