I've tried to ask the planet if it cares, but I never get a response. Just a low rumble...

Yes, you're right. And we're going this year again. Pretty soon actually, the end of this month, for a week. We'll be on the beach. I just hope the weather is nice. Where we live it's been rather cold and rainy.

I see. That explains it then. I am old and of the generation where semiconductors were just being invented. I have actually never owned or even operated a mobile device. You might say I have fallen behind the times. The word "app" is also foreign to me, not to mention the word Foren. I've no offspring, so I reckon I am pretty close to extinction. I'm basically just a complete mess. Other than that we've had a wonderful time at the party and I'll bring the Cold Duck next time.

    You can't be that old...

I suppose you're right. I think the cat's whisker was actually the first semiconductor and that was before even my time. I do however remember a time when there were no semiconductors in television sets, only vacuum tubes. My dad had a TV repair shop.

I actually remember the time when transistors first started appearing in TV's as I was working for him at the time, and we repaired all makes and models.

I believe it was in a Quasar TV that I first encountered a transistor.

Quasar was just a brand of TV.

The actual manufacturer of the TV was Motorola.

Eventually our receiving tube checker became obsolete.

I stared out checking a lot of receiving tubes on the tube checker. Compared to the current technology, checking tubes just seems like some sort of a weird dream to me now.

Water is pretty cool. It has unlimited shelf-life and doesn't go bad, unless contaminated by outside influences of course.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. Have we met?

Ok, just checking, please calm down and get hold of yourselves.

Dude, are you some kind of prevert?

    Possibly.

Ok well we don't take kindly to your types in this forum.

Ok, and whose problem is that?

Um ... I don't know, I'll have to think about that for a bit.

Well let that be a lesson to you then.

Alrighty then, thanks for stopping by and please come again.

I ain't going anywhere, dude. And who the HELL are you talking to?

Um ... another good question. You may want to consider becoming an active member like Ed and myself.

Ok. That's another thing I think I'll have to think about for at least 3 weeks.

    Well hurry up then.

I'm not real sure how much fun life would be without a person talking to themselves on the internet.

    I feel ya, dude.
